Privacy policy
How we collect, use and protect your personal data.
On this page
Welcome to the Offenso Online Privacy Policy.
This policy outlines Offenso Online’s practices in relation to the storage, use, processing and disclosure of personal data that you share with us when you use the products and services offered on or through the platform.
By using our services, you consent to the collection, storage, use and disclosure of your personal data in accordance with this policy. Please read it alongside our Terms and Conditions.
The data we collect about you
We collect different types of personal data about you. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Identity and profile data — name, username, title, passwords, purchases and orders, feedback and survey responses.
- Contact data — email addresses, phone numbers, billing and business addresses.
- Transaction data — details of the services you have availed and limited payment details shared by our partner payment aggregator, including UPI and VPA details.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, ISP, operating system, access time, page views, device ID and type, activity on the platform, clicks, timestamps and location data.
- Usage data — how you use the services, purchase history, interests, time spent and page views.
- Marketing and communications data — your preferences for receiving marketing from us and our partners.
We also use aggregated data such as statistical or demographic data. Aggregated data is not personal data under law as it does not identify you. If we combine it with your personal data so that it can identify you, we treat the combined data as personal data.
If you refuse to provide personal data: where we need it by law or under a contract and you do not provide it, we may not be able to provide the services, and may have to cancel or limit your access.
How we collect your data
- Direct interactions — when you create an account, use our services, enter a promotion or survey, request marketing, report a problem or contact us.
- Automated technologies — each visit automatically collects technical data using cookies, web beacons, pixel tags and server logs.
- Third parties — identity, profile and contact data from publicly available sources and from partners who help us provide the services.
How we use and disclose your data
We only use your personal data when the law allows us to — most commonly to provide the services or comply with a legal obligation. We use it to:
- Verify your identity, register you and create your account.
- Provide the services and track transactions.
- Monitor trends and personalise your experience.
- Improve our services, business and delivery models based on your feedback.
- Respond effectively to your support needs.
- Send notifications, service updates and occasional company news.
- Market and advertise the services to you.
- Comply with legal obligations, protect our business, and perform internal operations such as troubleshooting and data analysis.
- Enforce our terms, respond to court orders and defend against legal claims.
By creating an account you authorise us to contact you via email, phone or otherwise so we can provide the services and make you aware of their features.
We may share data without consent when required by law, or by a court or government agency. Such disclosures are made in good faith and only where reasonably necessary.
Transfer of personal data
We comply with applicable laws on storage and transfer of data. Subject to RBI guidelines, we may, where the law permits, transfer and store your information in countries other than India — for example if our servers or service providers are located outside India. By submitting your data you agree to such transfer, storage and processing.
Third-party services
Our services contain links to, and services provided by, partner networks, advertisers and affiliates. These have their own privacy policies. We accept no responsibility for those policies or any data collected through them — please review them before submitting any personal data.
Cookies
Cookies are small files transferred to your device through your browser that let a site recognise your browser and remember certain information.
We use cookies to enable sessions, remember your preferences, track advertisements and compile aggregate data about traffic and interaction so we can improve the experience. Third-party providers who assist us may not use that information except to help us run and improve our business.
Data security
We implement appropriate security measures including encryption, password protection and physical security, following the standards prescribed by applicable law.
You are responsible for keeping your password confidential. We are not responsible for unauthorised use of your information, lost or compromised passwords, or account activity resulting from such disclosure. If your password has been compromised, notify us promptly.
Data retention
Your personal data will be stored and retained for a reasonable period, or as permitted under applicable law, after we accomplish the purpose for which it was collected.
User generated content
Content you post — comments, feedback, pictures — will be visible to all visitors and may become public. We cannot prevent such information being used contrary to this policy or your privacy, and disclaim liability in that regard. You are solely responsible for anything you publish, and must comply with applicable law.
Business transitions
In the event of a merger, acquisition or sale of all or part of our assets, your personal data might be among the assets transferred.
Changes to this policy
We keep this policy under regular review and may amend it at our discretion. Changes will be posted on this page and, where appropriate, notified to you by email. Please review it regularly.
